David Marod - Board President

David Marod is an experienced business leader with over 20 years of expertise in technology startups, retail, and internet sectors. Passionate about boating and youth sailing, he actively supports sailing programs through his board involvement with the Bellingham Sailing Foundation, and Bellingham Yacht Club. His background in leadership, fundraising, and community engagement helps foster opportunities for young sailors to develop their skills and love for the sport.

Megan Reed

Megan discovered the joy of sailing after moving to Bellingham to attend Western Washington University, and she hasn't looked back! She has been racing with the Bellingham Yacht Club since 2016 and spent almost a decade working in the charter industry. After that she spent a summer teaching sailing to high school students in the Caribbean as a First Mate for Broadreach and spent 45 days on board a Beneteau 55' with 9 17 year olds who were all beginner sailors. Megan is the Youth Sailing Director at the Bellingham Yacht Club and has been leading the program since 2023.

Blaine Pedlow

Blaine Pedlow is an avid sailor and supporter of youth sailing throughout the Pacific Northwest. He actively races in the 505 Class and sails actively on a TP52 program focused on offshore events on the West Coast. Recently, Blaine and three friends ‘rescued’ a Santa Cruz 52 that was abandoned in a marina in the Bay Area, and they are preparing to sail Rosebud in the 2027 Transpac.

When he’s not sailing, Blaine leads all Revenue operations for US Sailing, the National Governing Body for the sport of sailing. Blaine is a board member of The Sailing Foundation, a former board member of the Intercollegiate Sailing Association, and a longtime volunteer at the Community Boating Center in Bellingham. He and his wife Kari have two kids, the oldest of which (8) is becoming an active youth sailor!
